Oil-Immersed Transformer
S13-M Series Oil-Immersed Distribution Transformer

S13-M Series Oil-Immersed Distribution Transformer

The S13-M oil-immersed distribution transformer uses a grain-oriented silicon-steel core to reduce no-load losses during continuous operation. The product datasheet reports an average reduction of about 30% compared with the S11 series. A sealed corrugated tank houses the active parts and accommodates normal changes in oil volume.

The standard range covers 30 to 1,600 kVA for 6–11 kV networks, with a 0.4 kV secondary. Dyn11 or Yyn0 connections and two tapping options support utility, industrial and building distribution schemes. Larger capacities are available on request.

Installation & Aftercare

Prepare the site, plan routine checks and keep service records.

What needs to be ready before installation?

  • Check foundation size, load capacity and terminal positions against the outline drawing, especially when reusing cables or busbars.
  • Keep the delivery and replacement route clear. Allow cooling space and access to bushings, earthing and fitted accessories; provide oil containment and weather protection for the site.

What should operators check during routine rounds?

  • Look for oil seepage around tank seams and bushings, damaged seals and corrosion.
  • Record load, unusual noise and fitted temperature indications; keep cooling surfaces clear of dirt and obstructions.

How should maintenance be scheduled?

  • During planned outages, qualified personnel inspect terminals and earthing, clean contaminated insulation and check tank coatings.
  • Set service and oil-test intervals from the supplied manual, operating history and oil-condition trends. Investigate leaks, seal damage or unexplained heating promptly.
