GTXGN-12 Solid-Insulated Ring Main Unit

GTXGN-12 Solid-Insulated Ring Main Unit

The GTXGN-12 solid-insulated ring main unit provides an SF6-free option for 12 kV secondary distribution. Its compact, enclosed construction uses solid insulation around the switching components, making it suitable for cable ring networks, switching points and compact substations.

Rated at 630 A, the series supports distribution-automation and feeder terminal unit (FTU) integration. Switching and protection units, cable interfaces and monitoring signals are configured around the network's single-line diagram, allowing the RMU to meet the circuit and control requirements of each distribution point.

Key Features

  • SF6-free solid insulation — environmentally friendly.
  • Distribution-automation (DA / FTU) ready.
  • Compact sealed design intended to reduce routine maintenance; inspection follows the equipment manual and site conditions.
  • For smart urban distribution networks.

Typical Applications

  • Residential estates and shopping centres
  • Airports, metro systems and tunnels
  • Wind-power sites and industrial facilities

Installation & Aftercare

Prepare the site, plan routine checks and keep service records.

What needs to be ready before installation?

  • Set the assembly on its specified foundation with room for cable terminations, operating access and opening compartment doors.
  • Coordinate cable connectors, earthing and any pressure-relief path with the supplied drawings; protect external compartments from condensation.
  • Where remote operation is required, provide the agreed auxiliary supply, actuator wiring, status signals and communications connection.

What should operators check during routine rounds?

  • Observe switching indications, alarms and any FTU communication faults; inspect enclosure seals and cable-entry condition.

What is covered during planned maintenance?

  • During isolated servicing, qualified personnel inspect accessible insulation, mechanisms, interlocks, cable terminations and earthing connections.
  • Test the specified local and remote functions after maintenance; investigate tracking, damaged insulation or failed position indications before reuse.
