KYN28-12 Indoor Metal-Clad Withdrawable Switchgear

KYN28-12 Indoor Metal-Clad Withdrawable Switchgear

KYN28-12 metal-clad withdrawable switchgear provides power distribution, circuit control, protection and monitoring for indoor 12 kV systems. A withdrawable circuit-breaker truck and four-compartment construction organise the primary equipment into separate sections for operation and maintenance access.

The listed configuration covers 630 to 3,150 A, with short-circuit breaking options of 25, 31.5 or 40 kA. Overhead incoming and cable incoming or outgoing arrangements support different substation layouts. Protection, metering and cable terminations follow the project single-line diagram.

Key Features

  • Withdrawable circuit-breaker truck and four-compartment construction.
  • IP4X enclosure; IP2X between compartments and with the breaker door open.
  • Supports overhead incoming and cable incoming/outgoing schemes.
  • Front access supports wall-adjacent, back-to-back or double-row layouts.

Typical Applications

  • Power stations
  • Factory and mining-site substations
  • Large medium-voltage motors

Installation & Aftercare

Prepare the site, plan routine checks and keep service records.

What needs to be ready before installation?

  • For the listed configuration, the catalogue specifies indoor ambient −15 to +40 °C and altitude up to 3000 m; declare site conditions when ordering.
  • Reserve front space for the breaker truck and handling equipment, plus cable bending and termination access.
  • Control condensation in the switchroom and cable trench; keep the specified pressure-relief route and operating aisles unobstructed.

What should operators check during routine rounds?

  • Record breaker operations, fault trips and protection alarms; observe fitted moisture-control equipment and external indications during rounds.

What is covered during planned maintenance?

  • During planned isolation, qualified personnel inspect truck contacts, shutters, interlocks, earthing connections and the breaker mechanism.
  • After a fault interruption or abnormal mechanism behaviour, assess the breaker before reuse; service timing follows duty and the installed breaker manual.
