XGN-40.5 Fixed Metal-Enclosed Switchgear

XGN-40.5 fixed metal-enclosed switchgear provides switching, control and protection for indoor 35 kV-class substations, power facilities and industrial sites. Rated at 40.5 kV, the series offers main-busbar currents of 1,250, 1,600 or 2,000 A and short-circuit breaking capacities of 25 or 31.5 kA.

Incoming and outgoing feeders, busbar sections, metering and protection are arranged into a lineup that follows the project's single-line diagram. Breaker configuration, cable terminations and interlocks are specified for the circuit duties, with short-time and peak withstand ratings matched to the network fault level.

Installation & Aftercare

Prepare the site, plan routine checks and keep service records.

What needs to be ready before installation?

  • Arrange the foundation and room access around the complete fixed-panel lineup, including the largest component’s removal route.
  • Provide cable bending space, earthing and access to the installed breaker and instrument-transformer compartments.
  • Keep ventilation and any pressure-relief path clear, and control moisture or conductive dust around insulation and cable trenches.

What should operators check during routine rounds?

  • Review trip records, breaker indications and any installed condition alarms; inspect room moisture and ventilation during rounds.

What is covered during planned maintenance?

  • At scheduled isolation, qualified personnel check breaker mechanisms, interlocks, primary connections and insulation for wear, tracking or heat damage.
  • Record test results and protection settings; examine the affected circuit after a fault or unexplained trip before returning it to service.
