KYN61-40.5 Metal-Clad Withdrawable Switchgear

KYN61-40.5 metal-clad withdrawable switchgear receives and distributes power in indoor 35 kV-class substations and industrial facilities. Its withdrawable vacuum circuit breaker and enclosed primary sections combine switching, control and protection in a cabinet arrangement designed for operating and maintenance access.

Main-busbar ratings are 1,250, 1,600 or 2,000 A; branch-busbar ratings are 630, 1,250 or 1,600 A. Short-circuit breaking options are 25 or 31.5 kA. The enclosure is rated IP3X, with IP2X protection when the breaker compartment is open.

Installation & Aftercare

Prepare the site, plan routine checks and keep service records.

What needs to be ready before installation?

  • For the listed configuration, the catalogue specifies indoor ambient −10 to +40 °C and altitude up to 1000 m.
  • Check the delivery route, floor loading and working aisle against the complete panel and breaker-handling arrangement.
  • Provide cable access, station earthing and the specified pressure-relief clearance; limit condensation and corrosive contamination in the room.

What should operators check during routine rounds?

  • Track operation counts, protection trips and abnormal indications, together with signs of moisture in the switchroom.

What is covered during planned maintenance?

  • At planned isolation, inspect breaker-truck contacts, interlocks, shutters and cable connections; test the specified control and protection functions.
  • Fault interruptions, sticking mechanisms or insulation contamination call for targeted inspection, with qualified servicing under the installed equipment instructions.
