Busbar Trunking
Busbar Trunking System

Busbar Trunking System

The busbar trunking system distributes power through compact sandwich-type conductors, providing an alternative to parallel cable runs in commercial buildings and industrial facilities. Copper or aluminium conductors are housed in an extruded aluminium-alloy enclosure, with listed current ratings from 400 to 6,300 A. The rated operating voltage is AC 380 V, with a rated insulation voltage of 690 V.

Suitable for vertical risers and plant distribution routes, the system supplies multiple loads through tap-off points along the busway. Enclosure options from IP40 to IP65 accommodate different installation environments, while the route, bends, joints and tap-off positions are configured to suit the building layout and connected loads.

  • High-rise buildings and shopping centres

Installation & Aftercare

Prepare the site, plan routine checks and keep service records.

What needs to be ready before installation?

  • Survey bends, floor penetrations and terminal positions before ordering; straight sections alone do not define the installed route.
  • Keep joints and tap-off units accessible, and specify supports and floor fire-stopping for the building layout.
  • Avoid roof leaks and pipe condensation; choose enclosure protection for the route and reserve space for future tap-offs.

What should operators check during routine rounds?

  • During rounds, look for water staining, damaged covers and unusual heating indications at joints or tap-off boxes.

What is covered during planned maintenance?

  • At planned isolation, qualified personnel inspect joints, insulation and supports, remove dry dust and check specified joint fastening.
  • Arrange qualified thermal surveys under representative load; investigate changing hot spots, moisture ingress or discoloured connection parts.

Customization Options

Define the electrical configuration and the details needed for your site.
