GDF Compartment-Type Low-Voltage Switchgear

GDF Compartment-Type Low-Voltage Switchgear

GDF low-voltage switchgear houses power distribution and motor-control circuits in fixed, partitioned compartments. The cabinet structure separates functional sections, giving industrial power centres and motor control centres an organised arrangement for circuit operation and inspection.

The series serves AC 380/660 V systems, with rated system current up to 4,000 A, horizontal busbar ratings up to 5,000 A and IP4X enclosure protection. Compartment allocation, feeder sizes and cable entry are configured around the circuit schedule and installation layout, with internal segregation and access requirements defined for each project.

Key Features

  • Compartment (partitioned) construction
  • Fixed functional units
  • Power distribution & motor control
  • Economical, easy to maintain

Typical Applications

  • Factory and mining-site electrical rooms
  • Power stations and substations
  • High-rise buildings

Installation & Aftercare

Prepare the site, plan routine checks and keep service records.

What needs to be ready before installation?

  • Provide a level indoor foundation and access to fixed devices, cable terminals and the largest replaceable component.
  • Size the room and cable routes from the complete lineup; horizontal and vertical distribution paths have distinct current duties.
  • Keep cooling openings clear and protect the room from conductive dust, condensation and water entering through cable trenches.

What should operators check during routine rounds?

  • Monitor circuit loading, trip history and unusual heating or smell without opening energised compartments.

What is covered during planned maintenance?

  • During planned isolation, qualified personnel inspect fixed-device connections, busbar supports and insulation for looseness, cracking or heat damage.
  • Remove accumulated dust and check door mechanisms; plan device replacement around the actual section isolation boundary.
