GGJ Low-Voltage Reactive-Power Compensation Cabinet

GGJ Low-Voltage Reactive-Power Compensation Cabinet

GGJ low-voltage reactive-power compensation cabinets automatically adjust capacitor stages to help maintain the required power factor as loads change. They are suited to distribution systems where motors and other inductive equipment create varying reactive-power demand.

The series covers AC 0.38 ~ 0.66 kV systems, compensation capacities up to 600 kVAr and up to 16 switching steps. Adjustable switching intervals allow the controller to respond to the load profile. Capacitor sizing, step allocation and any required detuning are determined by the target power factor and the network's harmonic conditions.

Installation & Aftercare

Prepare the site, plan routine checks and keep service records.

What needs to be ready before installation?

  • Connect at the designated LV bus with the controller’s current measurement covering the intended compensated loads.
  • Leave ventilation and service space around capacitors, switching devices and any reactors; avoid heat discharged by adjacent equipment.
  • Select stage sizes, switching duty and any detuned reactors from the load profile and harmonic study, not transformer kVA alone.

What should operators check during routine rounds?

  • Check controller alarms, achieved power factor and stage operation during rounds; watch for blocked vents and abnormal switching noise.

What is covered during planned maintenance?

  • With power isolated and capacitor discharge verified, qualified personnel inspect capacitor swelling or leakage, fuses, contactors and connections.
  • Investigate lost stages, repeated fuse operation or overheating; clean fitted filters and review the service interval against switching duty and temperature.

Customization Options

Define the electrical configuration and the details needed for your site.

Compensation stages
Total kVAr and individual stage sizes selected from the load profile and target power factor.
Switching & control
Stage count, switching delay, controller settings and current-transformer measurement point.
Network harmonics
Provide harmonic measurements so capacitor voltage and any required reactor arrangement can be reviewed.
Cabinet & protection
Cable entry, ventilation, branch protection and alarm indication to suit the switchroom.
