YB Series Prefabricated Substation

The YB prefabricated substation integrates medium-voltage switchgear, a transformer and low-voltage distribution in one factory-assembled enclosure. It provides a coordinated outdoor distribution package for residential, commercial and industrial developments, bringing the main electrical functions together for site installation.

The documented configuration covers 50 to 1,600 kVA in a 12/0.4 kV-class assembly, with oil-immersed or dry-type transformer options. MV switching, LV feeders, metering and compensation are selected for the load schedule and installation.

What needs to be ready before installation?

Provide a level foundation, a clear lifting route and service access to every operating door; agree lifting points and cable-trench dimensions from the supplied drawings.
Coordinate incoming and outgoing cables, site earthing, drainage and ventilation; keep the enclosure away from flooding or blocked air paths.
Before energisation, qualified personnel verify the supplied protection settings, interlocks and installation test records against the approved single-line diagram.

What should operators check during routine rounds?

Check enclosure seals, doors, drainage and ventilation; record load and any fitted temperature, alarm or fault indications.

What is covered during planned maintenance?

During planned isolation, inspect cable terminations, earthing, protection devices and operating interlocks; remove contamination using the equipment instructions.
Follow the installed transformer type: inspect an oil-filled unit for leakage and oil condition, or inspect dry-type insulation and any cooling fans. Set servicing intervals from the supplied manuals and site conditions.

The YB Series is a made-to-order compact substation with separate MV, transformer and LV compartments in one weatherproof enclosure. Each section is configured to the approved project requirements, including enclosure material and environmental rating.

Assembly: 12/0.4 kV-class MV switching, a 50–1600 kVA oil-immersed or dry-type transformer, and LV distribution.
Enclosure & layout: Shell material, architectural finish, compartment arrangement, ventilation and door access.
Transformer: Required capacity within the listed range, voltage ratio, connection group and loss target.
MV protection: Switching and fuse or circuit-breaker protection selected for the transformer and network fault level.
LV distribution: Main breaker, outgoing feeder ratings, metering and reactive-power compensation sized for the load schedule.
